ilovecreatives
ilovecreatives is a platform and "digital trade school" connecting creatives with resources, courses, and job opportunities. It empowers individuals to grow their skills, network, and collaborate. Focused on inclusivity, it fosters innovation across diverse creative fields.
Come Make Your Mark (CMYK) is an annual design-a-thon hosted by Innovative Design at UC Berkeley. Within teams of 3-6, competitors tackle a design prompt created by the company sponsor (ilovecreatives in this case) to collaborate, develop, and present their designs and solutions through a lightning pitch to the sponsor.

Since the prompt also called for a gender-neutral design that was similar to the company's existing branding, my team found inspiration from mot typography-heavy and earth-toned designs.
Process
Theme/Concept: For our concept behind the design, we focused on the idea of the embracing the "soft skills", which are things like patience, discomfort, etc. In addition to the hard design skills like how to use different softwares or design principles, these "soft skills" that are never really taught, but learned along the way are also equally as important in propelling us into growth.
Typography: We then explored a diverse library of font styles to combine them into our one statement by changing the font of select letters in our phrase "embrace the soft skills." We finally decided upon the bottom design.
Colors: We decided on a colorful, yet still gender-neutral palette by utilizing both pastel colors and some earth-tones.
Illustrations: We then wanted to illustrate our selected "soft skills" as living shapes, to make these better to understand in a friendly, approachable light. Furthermore, we illustrated them onto a photograph which added a more interesting, dynamic touch to the design by mixing media forms.
