SBCC Youth Ministries
South Bay Community Church was looking for a new logo for their Youth Ministries. This consisted of their Middle School and High School groups. They wanted something youthful and fresh that also aligned with existing branding for the church as a whole.
I created a new logo and color palette for them.

Taking inspiration from the church's logo that utilizes a wave and "beachy" color palette with yellow and blue, I made a more playful version. Further, using the "YM" in the circle of the "sun" brings out a younger feel and increases recognizability. There are also two variations of designs to account for different circumstances and aspect ratios.
Reflections
As a Media Intern at South Bay Community Church (SBCC), I spearheaded this project in conjunction with the leadership of The SBCC Youth Ministries to create a new logo. The old version was outdated and not universally used, so the goal of this project was to create a simpler, youthful logo that could be more recognizable and uniting for the youth of the church. The ultimate motivation was to bring in more kids to the youth ministries by first attracting their eyes, and then showing them the fun and importance of youth group. This was one of the first projects that had a real-life impact and use, so it was a very valuable experience to work on my critique, communication, and intentionality skills.
